Brief
This was a project I undertook as a Project Engineer for DigitME. Our clients, RapidIT had outsourced the development of an ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) Solution to a 3rd party developer. However, RapidIT were worried that this 3rd party were not developing the product to their specific needs. They asked DigitME if we could either develop the software ourselves instead or if we could assist the 3rd part by providing them with specific software designs.
Problem Solving
The first thing I did was review their existing software and create a feasibility study of what software we could provide, and what we could design that we could then submit to their 3rd party. RapidIT were pleased with the report and chose to go with our UX design service as it would provide the features they needed with the least development costs and risk.
As-Is Product
The as-is had a large amount of technical debt, with very difficult to use UI. The first step in this process was to hold several meetings and workshops with the stakeholders in order to review which features they required and which ones could go.
Solution prototype
I then created an interactive prototype on Adobe XD that the users could test and provide feedback on. This was then exported as screens, as well as the CSS and prototype link then sent onto the 3rd party who were able to develop the required features into the final product.
